My Story
Aaron and has a background of producing and writing original music, fostering a passion for music that evolved through high school and college (UConn), which continues now with SideFX. However, his journey into DJing started with an unexpected twist on a basketball court.
In June 2023, a basketball injury sidelined Aaron with a herniated disc, forcing him to pause the fast-paced athletic lifestyle he was used to. During recovery, Aaron redirected his energy into DJing, discovering a new way to express the same energy and stay connected to the intensity he typically thrived on.
What started as a setback became the catalyst for SideFX: a project built on turning obstacles into momentum and creating high-energy experiences through music.
This twist of fate birthed a musical journey like no other. Today, Aaron stands at the intersection of athleticism and artistry, showing how life's side effects can lead to the most harmonious outcomes.
His stage name, a play on words inspired by life’s unexpected "side effects" of that memorable basketball game, became a symbol of his journey - a journey that turned a setback into a setup for something extraordinary.
Aaron’s sets aren't just mixes; they are a testament to blessing and resilience, a celebration of the unforeseen path that brought him to DJ.
SideFX’s signature artist sound is rooted in EDM/House, while his versatile ‘open format’ style (Hip-Hop/Rap, Pop, Latin, and more) ensures the music is tailored to the crowd’s energy. With expert crowd reading abilities, there is never a dull moment when spinning the decks.
My philosophy is to make the most of every moment and play with passion and energy. I feel that the crowd mimics my energy and that interacting with the audience is key in providing a memorable night for all parties involved.
